A release checklist for trustworthy app analytics
Validate analytics before launch with a repeatable check covering payloads, identity, consent, environments, and reporting.
Begin with a test matrix for new and returning users, signed-in and anonymous states, supported platforms, and relevant consent choices. Record the expected event sequence for each path.
Make the practice repeatable
Inspect raw payloads rather than relying only on dashboards. Confirm types, timestamps, identifiers, currency, and environment tags. Make sure test traffic cannot leak into production reporting.
After release, monitor event volume and critical-property completeness against a stable baseline. An owner and rollback threshold make the checklist operational rather than ceremonial.
